I just wanted to do a survey on how many people here use services like Twitter, or FB, Myspace, Digg etc...

We have a few addons using these applications, but I wanted to see how many people are even using these sites.

If you picked other, please post which other ones.

Also if you picked any of them, post how much you use it and why or why you don't like it.

Thanks :D

I use Facebook waaaaay too much.
I'm on it all the time. When I'm not on the computer on it, I have the app going on my iPhone. I despise twitter though. Too much stalking.

Facebook!! I would like to try out twitter but to be honest I would really have nothing to update on it so I haven't tried it out yet

I don't actually think anyone on twitter EVER has anything substantial to say in an update. It's always just stuff like "Eating a cheese burger, tastes pretty good!" or something along those lines xD. come to think of it, Twitter is pretty much facebook simplified to the extreme.

It is very much so. I have a twitter account and I never post any updates on it. I never get on it at all. The only reason I still have one is because I have text subscription to Daniel Tosh. It's not really worth the time to make one and find your friends.

Ahh! that's what it is...I'm guessing I personally wouldn't do very well on it considering I am not a fan of status updates on facebook either...For some reason I find it so annoying at times when people update their every move but that's just me even though I guess social networking is for stuff like that anyways so I shouldn't be saying that

I think twitter is more for the new generation.. Think back to high school.. if we were in highschool we all would be on twitter LOL.

Things like new guy at school is hawt
New chic on campus is hawt
X is a bitch
X teacher is a loser

LOL!!! I mean the new generation I find uses social networking quite a lot.. but for the wrong reasons. More like a hollywood show or sometin

Good show harry. A very well made point. The youngest generation is all about being out and about. Telling everyone where they are at every single second of the day, what they are doing, eating, wearing, who they are with. There really isn't a point, but it's the popular thing to do i suppose. Personally i never used Twitter or Facebook much because they gave off too much information (and i received way too much information). But hey, some people like having no privacy, right?

I guess the young ones are more open in allowing others to invade their privacy. More teen girls talking to people online and getting abducting thinking the person is some handsome prince LOL.... It's just weird to me to open up with so much about yourself online. They need a system online where you can identify each person some how.

It's the same idea with long distance online dating and never having met that person yet thinking that person is the love of your life... - referring to the talking online and getting abducted part ...A lot of people still do it i guess which I personally find weird.

As for not liking privacy, you're right Jing...It's funny when you know someone but don't meet for like years yet you know every little detail about their life just because of these sites...it's kinda sad but if they like it then I am guessing it's normal for some people

What's scary is when a 30 yr old guy shows up at a high school to meet a girl he talked to online.... LOL now that's freaky!

Then he finds her house and comes knocking on the door to ask to hang out?

It's funny that you should say that, as i have done plenty of long distance dating in my time. I met people and moved across the entire country to be with them when i was younger. It's strange to think about how much i actually know about some people who live hundreds of miles away from me and whom i have never met. Some older members from GP are a good example of that. But i think the problem here is more about expelling too much privacy to many people, than just to one person.

As Harry pointed out, the problem is young girls becoming friends with older guys who then stalk them. I don't know if there is anything wrong with being friends across a great distance, but when someone shows up at your house on a whim and asks if you want to hang out, there might be something more going on there.

well in the past you've done that, but would u still do it? Or did the past experience make you realize it wouldn't work in the long run? I find that yes you get to know a person online but you only get to know what that person tells you.. I could give you my entire life history but would you still say you know me? just curious... i find that you need to be around that person to know the real personality..i have known a few people who did that and the guy would come all the way for them and it would be a perfect relationship but as soon as the guy leaves, the person becomes someone so different..but then again theres always exceptions to everything..there might even be a lot of people who end up getting married so I wouldn't totally hold on to my opinion and claim that its the only right one but personally I wouldn't do it... I am against long distance relationships in general even if its with someone you've been for a couple years but then moved to another city... had that happen and its quite pointless for me but every person is different...you sure can disagree with me :)
