Anyone here been home schooled? or want to be home schooled?

I kinda wish I was home schooled, but at the same time.. it probably would be less fun. I mean.. no recess, lunches.. fights haha :2guns::banghead:

Oooo, whooo? I wanna know!! I know some people who were Home schooled but they're both from Aussie Land. I don't know anyone in Portugal who's been home schooled. It would be great not having to wake up early for classes but I'd miss all the fun so... no wayyy.

I'm rather against home schooling, I just dont see how your parents or a single teacher can replace all the teachers and the life you have at a proper school.

Plus you learn lots of things at school, and not just during the classes. You get social skills there etc.
Nobody and nothing can make up for that in my opinion.

Veryy true. Social life is very important. Like, for instance, here it's easy to tell the difference between kids who go to kindergardens in pre-school years from those who go straight to school at 6 years old. Kids from kindergardens are much more social and less shy because they already gotten used to socialize with other kids.

Well I think with our technology now.. people can be home schooled more. Heck, in the olden days people were home schooled...

I don't see it being bad, it all depends on where you live too. If you live in a town in the middle of no where.. well...

But, most of us live in a packed city...

Also, social skills can be gained through other events such as sporting teams, parties etc...

I think most people learn more stuff online, than at school anyways these days :p

On the contrary, I found American school systems to be myopic in their presentation of received knowledge, catering to only one pronounced method of learning while disfavoring absolutely any aberrational student whose potential - as abundant as it might have been - needed different ideological perspective (or in many cases, a higher standard than the one left in a state of further dissipation after the Bush administration.)

Apart from that, I found the glaring sociality of that environment particularly redundant and anything but conducive to my own. From the sexually-instilled gesticulations to the blanketing cliques, the teenage process was one I could live without. So I dropped my junior year and pursued a very, very short-lived homeschooling schedule before testing past a diploma, haha.

Case in point: Not everyone has the luxury of a fulfilling educational establishment, and there are infinite ways to fine-tune social/career skills where school would otherwise be unhealthy. I, and friends of mine, are living examples. <3
