KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - Police said a man shot his neighbor, mistaking her for a monkey as she was picking sapodilla fruit in his tree. Yahaya Othman, police chief in eastern Pahang state, said the woman was gathering fruit Thursday when her neighbor shot her.
The man came home and saw rustling in the tree and fired into it, Yahaya said. "Then there was screaming ... and only then did he know it was his neighbor."

He said the woman was hospitalized with a wound to the abdomen but her condition was stable Friday.
He said police were investigating the man, a volunteer security corps member, for illegally discharging a firearm, which carries a maximum prison term of two years.

LMAO.. I found it a bit funny.. the fact that he thought she was a monkey... this is why we don't need guns :p

Although.. why the hell was the neighbor in the other neighbors yard? She could've asked him or at least revealed herself, so he knows it's a human/neighbor not some random monkey! :2guns::banghead:

Oh, wow, wow... That's pretty much what I have to say...

That teaches you at least one thing... don't go picking fruits on your neighbours yard.... get your own tree or go buy it...

And maybe... it's better if you don't get on your neighbours bad side... maybe he'll end up "mistaking" you for a monkey. And who on earth go shooting innocent monkeys anyways o_O. Weird people.

I see people shooting monkey's, birds etc.. on a constant basis.. and I assume the fruit tree was his and he didn't want anyone else eating from it...
