You could try to find one online with old firmware. That's probably what I'm going to do.

HAHA... I'm getting a PSP with 1.5 firmware! Fuck you, Sony! I'll need a big memory stick, but I think I can get a 2GB one online for about $35.

I think sony hates version 1.5 of the firmware and tried to make all the PSPs update so it'd be harder to use homebrew or something o_O That's just what I think, I'm not for sure, but I recall hearing that 1.5 is the best to go with for doing the cool shit with your PSP. Fox is saying Fuck you, Sony! Because he's getting one with 1.5 and not updating it, I guess.

Yeah. Sony released firmware updates that block you from playing downloaded games and most homebrew content. They want to force you to update your firmware to play new games... BUT... Devhook can emulate new firmware so you don't have to update! :D

I was just about to make a small rant here about how my PSP order hadn't been processed yet, but I hit refresh and it was finally processed.

yeah, they're limiting the abilities of their own handheld just to stop piracy. They're stopping good things to prevent things they don't like. It's screwed up.

So in order to play some new games (I'm sure they'll do it with system seller: Portable Ops) you have to upgrade the system so you can't use the downloaded games / homebrew? Correct?? Could Sony get in trouble for people downloading such content off the system?

If you still have old firmware, then you can use devhook to emulate the new versions of firmware without really upgrading.<div class='quotetop'></div><div class='quotemain'>Could Sony get in trouble for people downloading such content off the system?</div> I'm not sure what you're saying there.

Fuck! I ordered my memory stick on Tuesday night and it still isn't here. If it turns out to be a fake, then I may not have time to get a genuine one before Christmas. Oh well... hopefully Monday.
My brother's PSP hasn't arrived yet either...

Ah... here's why it's so late... <div class='quotetop'></div><div class='quotemain'>Hello,

We had run into an issue with a few superkeys. After testing a few
random sample from the batch, most of them gave errors and failed most of
the tests. We were awaiting the replacement batch to be available and this
had caused a delay in your order. The replacements became available and your
order was shipped out on Friday
