STUDENT ARRESTED...FOR BEING HONEST

AN HONEST student who handed in a mobile phone he found was stunned when police arrested him for theft.
Paul Leicester, 18, played the Good Samaritan when he discovered the handset lying in the street.
He rang the last number dialled and told a friend of the owner he would leave the phone at a nearby police station. But officers arrested him for “theft by finding”, held him for four hours and took a DNA sample.

Apparently it's illegal to "find" someone's property.... :cuss:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA **** PAUL!

His life sucks, but hey, what'd you expect? Go into a police office with a valuable thing and say "Oh, I FOUND this." They might have thought he was just expecting a reward for finding it when he actually did steal it.

Well.. anyone can say they "found" it... How can you prove they didn't steal it? Yeah.. the person is returning it, but it could be their guilt telling them to return it, if they in fact stole it....

I think it's stupid, but the law system is facked anyways.....
