Deadly Poison
Thick breath
Puffs of hot air
The smell of blood
My sight lost
Blind
Breaking and tearing
Shards of glass
Your hands like deadly poison to my heart
Throbbing pain in my chest
Love?
I seep into the wall
Hiding from you
The room raven black
Your shadow in the doorway
Your mouth moving
A silent “I’m Sorry” slips from your lips
I know its a lie
My body quivers as you come upon me
A smile on your face
Broken glass under your feet
A hand
Your hand is extended towards me
Cracked and callous
Glass in your fingers
You smile again
Bending down next to me and caressing my hair
“Lovely” You say grimly
A soft kiss on my cheek
Then a yank to my scalp, pulling my hair
A muted scream
Silence
Darkness
I run from you
Crying and panting
You trail behind me
My heart races
“This is the end. Our love has become venom.”
I speak in a scream, turning to face you
“I understand, so long, puppet.”
You step away into the shadows
Laughing
And never again do our paths cross
The strings on you fingers
Broken
Was I just your toy?
Poisoned and abused
Just a doll…
