Ideas for the forum?

Okay, people seem to think that things are slowing down around here, and that's (obviously) not good. So we need to liven this place up a bit! Post ANY ideas here! The worst that could happen is that they won't be used, but if they're used, then you'll probably even get some rep.
Anyone have any friends that post on forums? If people invite some of their friends, then maybe they'll join and stick around. Maybe see if some members that left can return?
Infamous says he wants a board for debates. I'm thinking that I could create that board and make him a moderator over it... kinda like his own board on the site... or something like that. Would anyone else be interested in having a board on here? If so and I create the board, it has to be at least a little bit active.
One more little thing.... is anyone interested in being an admin? Not just anyone will be accepted for this though.

Also, note that I won't let the forum end anytime soon. Whether here, on invisionfree, or wherever else, the forum will be around somewhere.

Well, I was thinking of asking you for my own board that my guildmates and I could use for our guild on Hero Online, but at best that'd be an addition of 15 people who probably wouldn't be extremely active on the normal parts of the board.

Dude, the thing is, advertisement is key. We have to advertise. I know all of you fuckers don't sit here at novagamers all day =/ so where ever it is you're going, spam the http://gamersforums.net/mega link a few times =)

I'll start talking to my guild members and see if they'd like to have a board here, I'd run it, but like I said they probably wouldn't be the type of members we're looking to gain right now.

It's better than none. Plus, some of them would probably check the rest of the forum. And maybe some would stick around.

I know that, but it's not as easy as it seems. A lot of places don't want you to advertise there. Advertising can sometimes get you banned. And other places, well, no one seems to pay attention. I really thought more people would join through my AIM profile... maybe even some old friends I haven't talked to in a while... but that didn't happen.

Eh, they'd be good members, I guess, I just don't want to bring all my guildmates here and maybe they ended up having differences with our members, fights and flame wars might ensue, and I wouldn't want to be right in the middle of that, my guildmates and my friends from NG. I suppose I can talk to them more about having a board here and see what they think, and if they like the idea, I guess we'll go for it. I'm logging back into Hero at 10:00 PM tonight for the EXP+20% event, so I'll talk to them about it then.

well, maybe we'll have to tighten the rules a little bit (but not excessively). If we don't invite people cause we're afraid of how they'll act toward other members, then we'll never get new people.

Anyway Fox, I'd like to get a board for my guild set up. I'd like to have it on the front-page, not a subforum of gaming or something, so we can have nice and easy access to it. At the bottom of the other boards is fine, if that'd work for you. We'll discuss more about it when you come back from away on AIM

I still want an amusement park board, but no one else will go with it.

Maybe we can get a game room like the other site had. that was cool trying to stay at the top of the high scores. Maybe rep accesses certain features on the site. Maybe you can spend it or something.

I think an arcade would be more difficult to set up because we'd have to host the games ourselves (unlike on IF) But maybe the games could be hosted along with the board? What I do know is that you have a good idea. What I don't know is whether we can do this or not.
Spend rep? We could do something like that with a forum cash (not real cash) system. It would probably replace reputation. But what would be available to buy?
As for your amusement park board idea, I think you're right. It might not get many posts, but it sounds like a good idea. I'm not sure if it should be made or not. If you think no one will post in it... then invite people that would and I'll create it? :weird:
