There has been a couple mentions of it, but i mean common lets hear the moans and screams about how they have stripped the marine of his aura of badness. Given a shield and a sword a marine looks like a noble soldier, all fighting together as a unit of honor and courage. No longer for pride, a kill count, and self preservation. I no longer hear the fierce battle cry of each individual marine, I hear them as one. What has blizzard done to the ultimate, the one and only, the marine.

Well, we have yet to see what the story behind the Marines is. For all we know they are new Empire established after the fall of the Protoss and their loss of control over most of the sector. I love the new bayonets. Would like to see them get some actual action. Shields I have no opinion on as of yet, as I'm sure my brother does as well.
actually...i think the new shield SUCKS...i mean the marines are meant to be badass i take you down with me kind of characters, and now they got a shield to hide behind like a pansy? and, even if you look at the marine with shield, compare them with starcrafts marine and the trailers marines-can you honestly say to me they look better with shields?
It would not bother me if it were not the huge, bulky, crusader-style sheild... It just looks clunky. They do look much better without it.
Of course they look worse shields are for pansies, hmmmm... odd coincidence all protoss have shields.

back to the topic, i think it'd be really cool if u can hear the marines roaring as they are firing.
Maybe a nice cinamatic where raynor gets refitted with the new suit including shield goes out to battle and starts getting pushed back. Then Raynor our #1 badass throws off his shield turns grunts,"Now that's better," steps out of the trench and places 2 hands on his guns shreds some lings throws his gun in the the air, crys out, and the troops let out their war cry with him, shedding their shield and charging the enemy lines with new found strength, accuracy, and speed.
That would just make you day wouldn't it? If Tychud Findlay does not have a shield, I doubt Raynor would. But, then again, I doubt Raynor would even be a Marine still. They are the lowliest rank of the Terrans, including common criminals.
Then again, all of the Terrans that started these colonies were shipped off because they were "undesirables". That means Duke, Raynor, and even Mengsk were all criminals awaiting death sentences at one point.

also lookin at it, do the marines have laser guns now??? cause the marine behind the main marine in the picture seems to be shooting lasers, and the terrain ships in the distance seems to be shooting the same colour lasers so it makes you woulnder....

You must admit, that is a freaking awesome picture. I believe that is Tychus in the front.

The shield would look alot better if the marines carried swords. Guess that's why Blizzard added the knife to the end of the guns.
I just wish the bayonettes were functional. I think that would look awesome to watch a Marine stab a Zergling on the end.
Well my comment on the bayonet is why do you think the army stopped using them? Well with Auto/Semi-auto guns it is just as easy or easier to pump 3 or more rounds of ammo into the enemy then stab them.
Though it will still look cool if a marine stabbed a zergling chucking the dead carapace off to the side or behind him...
