Times are definitely different today as compared to 30-40 years ago. Back then, we could freely walk to school, walk home for lunch, and back home after school is out. And that was even for kids as young as 10 years old. Nowadays, parents need to be far more stringent in their supervision.

Here is a precious 8 year old girl who has gone missing for 6 days now. She would normally walk home with her brother. Instead, last week, she left school with some other adult.
I cannot imagine the utter agony her parents are going through right now. Immeasurable pain and distress. It takes your breath away if you are a parent...
Damn this friggin brave new world. How good is it, really? Give me the "good ol' days" any day of the week when we could leave our back door unlocked without worries... :2guns:
