PSN hacked!!

Well most people probably have heard but PSN was hacked.

Most of the data has been claimed to be stolen. They "think" Credit Card info may have been stolen.

Several PS3 gamers have reported random charges on their Credit Card Bills.

Looks like a huge hit for Sony.

PSN has been offline for over 2 weeks now? I think they are looking to get back up at the end of this week!

Well it's costing Sony millions now. Apparently they are now providing FREE insurance. Since many people have their personal information all over the web including their Credit Card numbers as well. So Sony knows there will be lots of lawsuits against them.

I forget how they hacked it, but it was something Sony forgot to turn off. It's a method that allows developers to code and debug. Apparently Sony some how left it open and someone found a way to exploit it and BOOM.

The stolen info has been posted at a few sites as I noticed. Pretty messed up stuff...

Maybe thats why no one is showing up at GP lately. Since most of the members here have a PS3

It was a very dark time for a lot of people that we are playing on PlayStation console when this thing happened. Sony didn't do well in my opinion because if they had gone extra miles to protect their server, this wouldn't happen.
