Wow, that's pretty amazing, they're basically watching the conception of a planet from raw materials. Like this quote says, it could really help us understand more about the universe in general.

"Are these molecules destroyed, preserved or enhanced in the disk?" said Carr. "Now that we can identify these molecules and inventory them, we will have a better understanding of the origins and evolution of the basic building blocks of life--where they come from and how they evolve."

This could be the door to understanding a lot of things we're currently troubled over, and probably open up some new doors in the scientific area, give us some leads to go on in our subsequent pursuits of knowledge.

Give it 30 years, and the new Seamonkeys will be Microhumans-In-A-Globe.

In all seriousness, that's really somewhat amazing. We've come a really long way in terms of technological advancement in the past 100 years.
