<div class='quotetop'></div><div class='quotemain'>DigiTimes Systems has reported a rather interesting comment from SCEA exec Tetsuhiko Yasuda. According to Yasuda, "Sony does not regard Xbox as a competitor. Rather, the company may even consider working with Microsoft to develop games together."
Though the Xbox 360 has performed poorly in Japan, the idea of the two heavyweights working side-by-side seems so unrealistic the comment almost has the hint of mockery. For Sony to have the arrogance to say they do not see the Xbox 360 as a competitor speaks volumes - but to throw in the comment about maybe working together in the future is down right weird.
According to Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, the Revolution will not be competing with either of the two systems. Nintendo has admitted on several occasions the Revolution will not be as powerful as the Sony PS3 or the Xbox 360. It is Nintendo?s belief that with their innovative new controller and broader approach to gaming, they will attract a ?different? audience.
Though it appears that the comment(s) was meant to demean Microsoft?s Xbox 360, Yasuda could also be referring to the two companies different objectives in the market. Bottom line is that Sony is trying to create an all-in-one media device coupled with a handheld (PSP). On the other hand, Microsoft chose to make the 360 a Media Center Extender to push sales of WMC or Vista
Perhaps if the two media giants were to join forces to create an online service where Playstation gamers could go head-to-head with Xbox gamers, then maybe it would be a good idea.
In either case, it wont be the last time we hear of a company belittle the ?non? competition.</div>
LMAO,Another exc smack talking an competior...Priceless.
