Treasures Of The Heart

The King Of Bandits
A warm sweet breeze leaked through the old broken shudders of a now abandon large brick building. Creaks echoed through the abandon structure, as if no one had walked the halls in years. In reality it had only been a matter of hours since the inhabitants last roamed the floors. An old rust covered metal sign lay on the ground next to the door, fallen from its hinges somewhere through the years. The letters are almost unreadable as they peek through the dust and grime. "Shadow Flutter Orphanage". Many children passed through the doors of the orphanage, but after years of growing up and maturing, they soon left what they had come to call their home. Salidify Locas was one of those children.

He like many others Had lost his parents. His mother dying while giving birth to him, and his father soon after in the North Croesian War. He knew nothing of where they had been buried, or if they even had been given a proper funeral. Unlike many of the children at the orphanage, Salidify had closed himself off from others. Not leting anyone else in except for a select few. To him, He was alone. No one really cared about him, with the exception of the mistress who ran the establishment. But that was her job. All He did was sit alone near the corner of the back wall, in the main room. The other children ran giggling around the house, as if they had not a care in the world. The orphanage truely was a house of many Personalities, everyone was unique in their own little way, yet they all shared one thing. They all Fell to sleep in the same house at night, and reguardless the events of the past day, or the quarrels which might come the next day, they all were family...No matter what.

Analise gazed out the window of her tiny room given to her from the orphanage, the bright golden sun slowly tiptoed it's way behind the
sky-scraping mountians. Her eyes glossed over with tears and one slowly trailed it's way down her cheek. Her piercing eyes were fragile
but also isolated like she was lost in deep thoughts and past memories of her life that she wished she could forget. Down on the road below she watched couples and families pass by, she wished her life could have been lead like theirs, to be happy to have a real family, most of all someone she could call "Mom". Analise's thoughts where taking over her mind of the tragic event that had changed her life forever. She closed her eyes and sighed....."I'm sorry" She whispered as the sky began to fade into a dark blue...

"If only I was there sooner...I could have stopped it all...All of it!" Memories came tearing across her mind. She saw a man with a knife plunging towards her father and mother. Her father was clinging onto his dear wife with a new born baby in her arms. Cries, and screams could be heard like it was the end. The horrific thoughts flashed through her head. The Man had killed all three of them. Her Mother, Father, and new born baby Brother.

Analise opened her eyes and shivered as more tears began falling from her eyes. Slowly and calmly, she walked to her bed and tucked herself in. The linen sheets were cold and the thin mattress could only contain a little amount of heat. She slowly cried herself to sleep, the day was coming to an end, and she wanted to get up early.

Name: Analise Belvidare

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Personality: Sweet but Stubborn, Gentle and Shy, Analise often gets her way when she wants it, however she only asks for her way when she really wants something. Deep down inside she's a fragile as a rose. Only the people close to her get to experience her soft and more gentle side. She's not cold hearted and makes good first impressions. Her family died when she was young so she sometimes acts distant to the world and people around her. But she can still be cheerful and kind. She'll only bite if she's forced into doing something she doesnt like.

Appearance: Deep Dark piercing purple eyes, and long red/pinkish hair that flows to her lower back with bangs. She changes her clothing all the time at least with what she has but her typical outfit is a cream white tank top over a black long- sleave net shirt, a pair of jeans and black ankle length round curve-toe boots Her height is 5'5 and she weighs 110.

Name: Andrew

Age: 17

Personality: A kind hearted person who is always trying to cheer the other orphens up. He might not always know exactly what to say within a situation but always has the right intention at heart. He is the oldest in the orphange and has been their since he was 5 years old. A lot of children consider him a role-model due to his attitude and ordeals. His parents are not actually dead but they were unable to afford him while he was young due to bad addictions on his parents behalf.

Appreance: Blue eyes, thick brown hair. He is 6ft tall and pretty skinny. He wears a lot of cargo pants and somertimes a black jumper.

I walked over to my bed and layed down. I turned my head to the left to notice a child which i had not seen before. He seemed upset and worried. I decided to walk over to him, as I approached I asked what was the matter. No reply. "Are you okay" I asked again. Still nothing. i knelt down onto the ground and tried to console his grief. "I know what your going through i really do" I said again. He turned his head to look at me and had a little smile on his face. "See there you go, a smile! Its not so bad is it?" As i got back up. I started to walk away "Oh and by the way....if youneed someone to talk to, i'm always open ok?" The kid nodded and smiled again. I went back to my bed and laid down.

Later that night.

It was dinner time and everyone was starving from playing all day. The food hall was loaded with every kid in the orphange. each one got their food and sat next to their best friend. I walked up to the bench and asked for the beef soup. A lot of the chairs were already taken. Then i saw the child again....the one in the green shirt. He was alone again. I walked up to him "Do you mind if a sit down?" i asked. "No" he replied. "Thanks, you know your awful quite" I asked with curiosity. "Yeah" he said flatly. We finished our dinner and I took his tray "You all done? No more?" I asked. "No' he said again....the third word all night. I started to go back to the bench were everyone received their food then "Wait!" The boy yelled out, i turned to see what he needed..........................................

Salidify Tossed in his raggy bed, unable to get any sleep at all. The constant flow of air throug the cracked, dusty window at the other end of the bunk room made it impossible for him to sleep as it gave off a goulish howl from time to time. So many things scared the young boy these days, his time of being a fearless child had passed years ago along with his parents. Grey memories from years passed ripped apart his emotions everyday. tears one minute then silence the next. He was the outcast child of the house as well which didn't help him much in light of his current situation." why mom..dad.." Silent tears of pain slipped down his dry face like moisture from a storm cloud at the very begining of a storm. A sniffle here and there, then more silence, hoping not the awake any of the other children.

The darkness make for a perfect backdrop of his life. no one he could see, and no one who could see him. Twilight hours slipped by as he closed his moist eyes once more in hopes of getting to sleep. But sleep never came. All alone in the darkness he cried, all night long he laid in silence. And when dawns breaking finaly arrived, it's orange rays peaking over the horizon in the distance like they had so many mornings before, he finaly fell asleep, hoping not to wake up for a very long time. Anything that might have been bothering him was put at the back of his mind, as he dreamed peacfully in silence, and slept silently crying.

It was about 3 AM as I loafishly dragged my feet across the main hall back to my dorm. I was half way when I heard weeping...I could quite see where it was coming from as their were doors all down the side of the hall on both sides. I took a step forward to see which way the noise came from....the floor creecked and the sound of weeping went back. I peaked into the nearest room and saw the same boy I tried to talk to earlier that day. He looked asleep but he was still crying. It felt wrong to wake him but it also felt wrong to leave someone crying there. I decided to leave him there and see how he felt in the morning...maybe he didn't even know he was crying. I close the door silently and walked back down the corridor trying not to creek the floow. I had been there for a while now so it was easy for me to dodge the cracks. I got to my room and sat on my bed. Everyone around me was silently asleep...it made me think how long I was here for...at this orphange. I laid down and began to think about how much more time I had here. I'm 17 and turn 18 in a few months. Its compulsory to leave when your 18...you gotta find a job and make your own way....I don't think I could deal with leaving everyone behind. I thought maybe I could get a job at the orphange...I pushed the thought out my head and went to sleep.

I woke up the next day and had totally forgot about wha happened the previous night. I went into one of the main bathrooms and got myself a drink of water from the tap...Gee I was thirsty. I walked into the mess hall for breakfast talking to all the kids I had made friends with over the years. I saw that boy again...the one crying...he was sitting with someone else. I decided to talk to him again so I sat over at his table. "Hi its me again....you want to tell me your name now?" I aske happily.
"Sure" he replied. "Its Saildify".

Analise found herself waking up later then usual, to find the bright sun shining through her window. Breakfast had already started, so if she wanted to eat she had better hurry up. She didn't wake up late often, in fact she always got up pretty early. Last night just wasn't her night. No matter how hard she tried to sleep, she couldn't. The cold chilling air that blew through the cracks of the window didn't help either.

"Why does this have to happen today?" She said silently to herself while brushing her dark redish hair quickly with a wooden brush. Setting it aside on the wooden night stand she hurried out the door of her room. Analise sighed as she ran quickly down the halls and down the stairs to the so called "Dining room." Everyone seemed to be there, always chit chatting away. Analise stopped and spoted an empty place to sit, It was always crowed like this. Thats why it helped to wake up early, at least you would have first dibs on where to sit. She'd sit with her friends, but sadly they all turned 18 and got to leave the orphanage. Of course she knew younger people, but she merely didn't feel like she'd fit in. After she got her plate of scrambled eggs and bacon she then peered again to see where she could sit.

"Lets see here..." Analise pondered for a second...She soon spotted a table. A boy maybe the age of 13 or 14 was sitting there, he wore a green shirt. He was only sitting near a couple of people, so she thought maybe she would ask if she could sit there. Her old boots made a clicking noise on the ground as she walked. She arrived at the table and heard part of the conversation between the boy and an older looking guy, the words were " ' Hi its me again....you want to tell me your name now?' " As soon as the younger looking boy replied, Analise interrupted only because she wanted to sit down and eat. Hesitantly she asked....

"I know this may be a bit odd, but.....May I sit down and eat with you?" A gentle smile was forming on her pale lips.

Salidify was shocked by the sudden offer's to sit by him." Um.. sure" he replied with a faint smile which barely made visible through his sadness. it was the little light inside him that was slowly growing." I dont see why you would want to though" His head sunk back to where it originaly had been before anyone talked to him. All his life he had always been the kid that no one liked. When his parents died that fact was even more so forced upon him. A tiny smiled crept onto his face, the first one since last night. Two in the last week had to be some kind of record or something. He wasn't sure really on what had been happening all around him until this moment." My name is salidify by the way" he said in a very shy tone hoping she would be nice to him. all his life all he had wanted was someone to care about what he did, what happened to him, and just someone to ask if he was alright.

" Dont feel obligated to stay" He said softly to the others around him" It's not like im worth your time anyways." just at that time a guy at the table behind him stood up. He was not even a year older then Salidify." your not worth anyones time and we all know that, you dont have to tell us what we already know" Salidify's head sank lower closer to the table between his arms while his attacker stood behind him spouting off more of his evil lies. Salidify was hurt everyday by kids exactly like that one, thats why he never tried to make any friends. He sat quietly until the kid hit him in the back of the head and sat back down, luaghing with his other friends, his evil grin still stretched across his pudgy face. Salidify lay his head between his arms quietly on the table thinking about what he should have done compared to what he had ultimatly done. Nothing. He didn't say another word, nor did he have any intention of talking for the rest of the day just like he had done so many others days before.

All the kids around him seemed not to care, or stand up for the young boy in his stead. He sat just waiting for someone to ask if he was ok, hoping someone would do something since he was too scared too. But he knew deep down that just like every other day no one would do anything, and the kids which had been so caring before would eventualy walk off and forget about him so that they might hang out with they're friends. In the end everyday was the same for salidify, the same torture every morning by a diffrent kid everyday. He didn't get why they did it. I't was like the just didn't care anymore. No one cared...not even those who appeared to care. In the end they all left him, alone in the dark, with no one around and no one to care...and in the end He cried himself to sleep, with no one around, and nobody there.

I just watched a kid hit Salidify over the head. It didn't sit wel with me at all. I tried to think of something to do but I didn't agree with violence and sometimes it was the only way of reaching out to this confused kids. I decided not to do anything saving it for another time if it hapened.
"You ok man? That hit seemed like it may have hurt a little yeah?" I asked. "Well, it kinda did" Salidify replied "Dn't worry it happens everyday".
"Does it know?" I asked curiously..."Thats no good at all, you know why they do it right?" I asked again curiously. "No.....Why?" He replied. "Its because there confused and upset like you. These boys and girls lost their parents when they were just as old as you, you now? They think that bullying another will get a parent figure to stop them...they might not know it either but its true....I went through the same thing." I said. "Really? Thats really interesting I had no idea." Salidify replied once again. "Yeah...you probably wouldn't guess it but I terrosied this place when I first came...Well...I have to go clean up the dishes....Enjoy your breakfast ok? Try and make some friends" I said as I got up and walked away.

I had just finished cleaning the dishes as Alice walked in....she was my girl friend in this orphange...she came about a year and half after me and we hit it off really well as good friends. We had only been interested in each other for about over a year now. She kept me going like nothing else could. She was the one who finally helped me settle into this place like a normal person. I guess thats why I was trying to help Salidify. "How are you today Andy?" You look really tired" She said. "Yeah I had a late one last night...couldn't sleep till about 3:30 in the mornin" I moaned. "Thats no good hun....Were you thinking about it again?" She slowly walked over to me and put her face undermine. That thing....it had kept me up multiple nights bt not this time.."Nah...it wasn't that again...jus another kid this time...Don't worry about it. Lets go" I stated lifting my head with a smile as we walke dout together.

Underneath the oak tree I continued to stare into nothing, thinking about why I was here. What I had done. I can't beleive it....I had spent so many days trying to make it better and even know nothing will make up for it...

*Flashback*

I was 5 years old...still living with my parents, I can't remember any of it except one vision which keeps haunting me. I know I was a violent child. I did everything to upset people. At least thats what the people here at the orphange tell me, I'm so ashamed. The vision, is of my brother lying still on the ground...he was 3 years old....I had killed my own brother. This is why I am here. Its not that my parents actually hated me or couldn't look after me, its just the grief caused to them was beyond beleif. Starring at your dead brother is unimaginable, although the scarier part is...I didn't care. I was happy to hurt him, the emotion was unforgetable.

Not long after I got brought here I was still causing trouble. I never stopped, till one person came...Alice. I hated her to start but she was the only one who tried and tried to see the good in me. She showed me how to regret my mistakes but also the joy of self-forgiveness...who am I kidding I never forgave myself once I realised what I had done. I had tried to shed a tear but nothing...in my entire life I had never cried a single tear of sadness.

"You there Andrew?"

I snapped out of my memory...."Oh yeah i'm here, not sure about mentally though" I cracked a smirk. "well I have to go" noted Alice, "things to do people to look after". "Your to nice you know that?" I grinned. "I try" She said she walked away. I got up myself and walked back inside i needed to lay down some more. As I went to go back inside I was stopped by another female..."Hey! you! I saw you talking to Salidify. What did you say to him he started crying you know?" She said with a little force behind it. "U-uhh say what now" I tried to stop my eyes from bulging out of my head. "What did you say to the kid during lunch?" She asked again. "I dont know, he was upset...what the hell? I can't try and talk to people now? How about you tell me your name first?" I ask curiously. "Its Analise, but it doesn't matter, so you didn't say anything bad to him?" She squinted one of her eyes at me. "No I didn't" I tried to defend myself...."Where is he now anyway?" I asked...............................

The King Of Bandits
Salidify had been siting alone for what seemed like hours in his mind, but reality said it had only been 30 minutes. He was so lonely. a sudden shape seemed to melt into the door way of the old abandon room. Salidify shifted quickly into a denfensive position" Who's there!" he shouted feircly. No answer came. " What do you want with me, i want to be alone." The dark shape seemed to walk ever closer to salidify, each step seeming to stretch a thousand miles. There was a flash of light in the room as the old lightbulb that had illuminated the corner shattered. The flash had given off enough light for salidify to make out the face of his father. Another creak in the opposite corner of the room, another shape. The shadows seemed fixed on trapping salidify. The young boy wasn't about to let that happen" WHAT DO YOU WANT WITH ME!" he kicked aggresivly and spun, throwing his fist every which way hoping to scare the figures off. He closed his eyes and curled up in the corner" please...someone...anyone...help" The words barely escaped his mouth while a blunt object struck his head, and his vision slowly faded to black.

In the years passed many odd events had happened at the house. Murders, kidnappings, kids slipping into coma out of nowhere. There had always been a story about the shadows of the old annex. Said to be the very spirits of those who perished or were lost in these events before the annex was closed off. Salidify had never been one to believe in ghost stories, but there is no doubting what he had seen Many nights, late when everyone was asleep. Shadows of nothing, hearing sounds from nowhere." There is no such things as ghost" he had always told himself. Now when he needed someone the most...he had no one. People had tried to help him, but he had shut them out like all the others. Everyone would go on with there happy lives and forget all about the young boy in the green shirt who had always sat in the corner, not bothering anyone with little things like his life.

"Hello...can anyone here me...where am I?"

He opened his eyes to see a young girl standing over him, about his age." Are you awight?" Her voice was sweet and sincere with care. she held out her hand as to help Salidify to his feet. For the first time in a while...he accepted the hand and stoof up to his feet. "..Yea im fine.." He stared at the girl and smiled " I'm salidify " He held out his hand and smiled. the girl smiled back and replied back quickly" I'm Rena. Your not from around here are you?" Rena stared at Salidify, her green eyes sending a soothing touch into salidifie's heart before he answered her question"..No..where am i exactly?" He looked around at the scenery. It seemed diffrent from what he had saw before. The plants, the bustling people at the end of the alley he was standing in. " This is Goarvine. the wine capital of Ceyena" Salidify listened and ****ed his eyes in confusion "Ceyena? Goarvine?" Salidify had never heard of Ceyena before. He had always had time to study geography at the orphaneage in America, but he had never come across any country by the name of Ceyena.

" Do you know..Where america is?" Rena looked confused" America? is that some kind of bar?" Salidify sunk his head realizing that obviously there was a problem. The girl didn't know where america was. and Salidify had never heard of Ceyena. The girl took his hand and smiled" come on, i'll show you around the city, we will head to the market place first ok?" Salidify smiled hearing her sweet voice again."..ok, lets go." He smiled and began walking next to Rena down the narrow alley. He was lost, only what seemed like seconds ago he had been at the house. But now he was in a completly diffrent world or something. things. It was not a dream either, that was obvious. There was no way of going back now, and the only direction to go..was forwards"
