The King Of Bandits
(I will be posting this as i go. so here is chapter one or at least what i have so far. please tell me anything you see wrong with it because i know there will probably be a lot of problems.)

The gentle whisking of the soft winter winds rolled along the face of a hillside, picking up the leaves that had fallen from the trees and seeming to toss them about, as a child interacting with a play toy would. The barren hillside was empty, save only the long, meadow like grass and an assortment of trees which sat near the top.

Along with the grass and the trees, as well as the wind and the leaves, lay a boy no older then 17. Kuza Sarandaco. The winds of the soft season brushed his long, dark brown strands of hair moving them for only a second before the wind once again retreated to it’s former peaceful state. Kuza gently sat up, pulling the sides of his jacket in close so he could zip it up. The clouds looming overhead seemed to taunt him. For months he had been waiting for it to snow, and for months he had been damned to wait longer. Winter had been the only season he ever looked forward to, it was too bad it only came once a year.

In the far distance he could see the grey skyscrapers, they seemed to rip a hole in the beautiful sky as it progressed further south, murdering any clouds that made their way near it. Rongedish City was a large city, with a population of no smaller then 6 million people. It was understandable why no one would want to live in a city so overpopulated as it was. Kuza was one of those people. All his life he had dreamed of a life outside of the city. Only last year had he achieved his goal. Things had been starting to look up for him lately. Between moving out of the city, and finding a dwelling which suited his needs, he felt that things were going pretty well. It had been such a relief for to remove himself from the mental, and physical strain that had been imposed on his body, even his personality and character, by the city. Out here he could be himself, and think how he wanted.

The city had always been a demanding environment, wanting nothing less then all you had plus a little more. Kuza however, had never gotten a hold on the city lifestyle. He could constantly be found in the encyclopedia section of the Grant Jennings Library, two blocks from his house in the suburbs. He never had the will to hide, but he had always had the will to learn. Even at the young age of 17, he was interested in such things as the science of other planets, Microbiology, and a great interest in Clairvoyance.

As the sky began to darken, the abomination in the distance began to glimmer. It was what Kuza referred to as Delusional day, daylight created by the many detestable clubs and bars all over Rongedisk City, daylight that only brought more pain sorrow to the slowly deteriorating midnights sky. The sun was fading slowly in the distance, dipping under the horizon and fleeing from the murderous intent of the skyline. He felt almost as though the sun had left him for dead, much like his parents had late last year. The sky was beginning to come even darker, and the sun was all but gone. Night was setting in fast.

The boy stood to his feet slowly, making sure not to disturb the wildlife around him, wanting to leave everything exactly how he had found it. To the west was a loud crackling sound, followed by a low and almost unnoticeable roar. It was obviously emanating from the large concrete facility all but hidden in the silent hills of the west. Suddenly a light flickered on, bright enough to light up all of Rongedish. This building was known as Kirioko Prison. A high security prison for only the most dangerous of all criminals. What went on inside of that prison was a mystery to Kuza. Every night however, the same bright light flickered on, revealing the tall smoke stack in the center of the facility. It was yet another reason why Kuza had been all to happy to move out of the city.

He turned, pointing his back towards the smoke stack and the disgusting city of Rongedish. Each footstep away was a relief as he began to walk faster and faster up the hill. Near the top lay a small building, with seemingly no inhabitants whatsoever.

“ home sweet Home” Kuza whispered to himself “ the old kirioko orphanage”

The old rotted front door of the building was anything but safe. Combined with the mildew and asbestos in every nook and cranny of every room and every hallway around the building, it was safe to assume that no one would even dare step foot inside. No one but, of course, Kuza.

Each of his steps seemed to echo down the old deteriorated corridor, as if laughing back at him for something he had done. At the end of the hallway was a metal door. The many writings on the outside of it were for nothing other than show, placed there to scare anyone who might venture deeper into the house then just the front door. The boy swung open the door, slamming it shut behind him and glancing around the room with a smug smile on his face. This was one of the only rooms in the house which was clean, decorated, and used. It was Kuza’s bedroom.

The sheets of the bed near the corner of the room were thrown about, as if Kuza had woken up and walked straight out the door. He plopped down on the bed, releasing a deep sigh before he pulled the sheet over him, and closed his eyes.

Through the window overhead, crept the light of the moon, seeming to climb down into the middle of the room and come to a halt on the floor. It was a clear night, with not a cloud In the sky. The temperature outside had been polluted by a small gust of wind now, lowering it to about negative six degrees Celsius. Outside small white flakes began to fall on the ground, the low hum of the prison could be heard from inside the house as well. Outside the ground was becoming speckled with small white flakes.

Kuza lay on the bed for a moment, wondering what the next day would bring. His body rolled over, leaving him to lie on his left side now rather than his right. The boy curled up close, and hugged the blanket tightly. Before long he had fallen into a deep, dark, and peaceful sleep. Tomorrow would be another day, there would have been no point in worrying about what he couldn’t prevent.

Ooo...nice. I really like it. Really good detail and an interesting start...no clouds, but white flakes...I have a BAD feeling about what those flakes may be...
