When should we have another year one/zero? When should we start a new epoch? Pick the one you agree with the most. I'll explain the choices...

Major disaster: this could be a major nuclear war, asteroid hitting the planet, or anything like that. It would probably involve millions or billions of deaths. This could happen at any time!

Contact with aliens: ...and it's not kept top secret. This would mean the world would know about it, not just some secret government agency.

Colonize another planet: This could mean anything from the first city on Mars to the first colony outside of the solar system (which will be even longer from now.)

After the year 9999: We would go from year 9999 to year 0 or year 1.

World government: Kinda explains itself. The years would reset when/if the world is united under one government (even if the government is split into many parts)

Computers consume our souls: I don't know how to explain this one. I was just told to add it.

Other: Post your own idea if you pick this option.

Combination of above: Pick this if you think the years should reset after more than one of the above happens.

Never: Pick this if you think we should never have another year zero/one.

Like BC, AD, another one of those.... exampe: If it's year 3999, then the next year would be year 0 or year 1.

i picked never. then at least you can keep count of how many years passed when the earth is destroyed by the sun blowing up and vaporizing the first 4 planets. a nice little bite sized piece of info to know before your death.

It doesn't work THAT easily cause of the BC years that go backwards. It'll be 2006+(however many years pass)+(however many BC years there were).
