Well, since Starcraft isn't terrible, let's go with Aliens ( from which Starcraft has borrowed tons of lines, ideas like Dropship, Marine, the Amerigo cinematic, xenomorphs ), Starship Troopers ( marines again, power armor from the book, arachnids -> zerg ) and Predator 1 ( good movie, cloaking, advanced alien technology ).

u guys forget the movie independence day, where the mother ships let out little flying dudes with SHIELDS to take out the air force. sound familier? carriers? interceptors? add that the movie mix with avp (not as bad as blades of auir says) and starship troopers, and bam. starcraft.
