Nineteen-year-old Codey R. Hawks has been arrested on rape and sexual imposition charges in Parma, Ohio, accused of raping a 12-year-old boy. The two are reported to have met through Xbox Live.
NewsNet5 of Cleveland is reporting that Hawks "repeatedly raped" the underage victim after traveling from Michigan to Ohio. Parma police said that Hawks was staying with the boy's family, having arrived on January 15th. He was arrested yesterday.
I thought we made it perfectly clear well in advance of this disgusting incident that this is not what Xbox Live was for.
Try to keep your faith in humanity from shattering while exhibiting your best behavior in the comments.

What in the gaming world is this world coming too?? :bomb:

Such sick minded people have been around for hundreds of years =p Just the kids nowadays are getting more stupid. It looks like that kids aren't raised anymore with the golden rule "Don't accept candy from a stranger" "Don't talk to strangers".
You see kids with the age of 6/7/8 having their own profile on something like a facebook, thats like an open invite for such a person. Plus they have a pc on their own room and a tv and maybe sometimes even a phone. How many times do you lately see really young kids walk around with a mobile phone aswell?
I think the parents its mostly to blame in this, for giving them too much freedom at a too young age etc.

But thats my view ;)

So true. Tons of younger kids have their own t.v, cell phones and are pretty much un-supervised during gameplay. Parents just don't either have time or aren't too knowledgeable about the outside risks. Think about our generation parents, who've never played with DVD players, or heck even computers... They're new to this stuff. But our generation and on wards, will have tons of activity with this stuff. So, I guess we're more aware of it.

I think if you give your address to a guy on XBOX Live, you deserve what's coming to you.

I know eh? who the hell just out right gives their address? But, I assume they knew each other fairly well. Wasn't the guy staying over at his house? So, I assume the parents new too??

I know a girl who gave this guy her address. He liked her, and she did him but her boyfriend came into the picture. He blackmailed her ass. You don't give out your address. Thats rule #1.

Actually, finding someone's address is quite easy. I won't say how, but it's easier than someone telling you directly.

Main thing is don't respond to complete strangers. If you don't know them that well, than keep your distance.

The worst part is people online don't make it easier. I've seen some facebook pages and it's full of girls with hundreds of pics. I mean... it's like you're saying "look at me.. yes all these flirty pics.. now come and stalk me" LMAO.. literally, your asking to be stalked or watched by putting your self out there.

=O Is it that easy to find someone's address? Not good, bad, badd! Stalkish people! lol

Yeah, putting your pic online is not such a good idea. That's why I never did it. But then again depends on where you put it. And as I said stalkers can be just around the corner. Life's dangerous these days, tsk tsk.

It's not about one pic. You don't have to put it up, but if you want to, it doesn't mean you have to post tons and tons. Also, posting flirty poses is just asking for a stalker LOL... Post a few of you and let that be that.... It doesn't mean it will STOP stalkers still, but it keeps you on the down low.

You don't know how many FB pages I saw, where guys are commenting on random girls profiles.
