Meebo (Connect to many messengers in a web browser. Nothing to install, but limited features. Good if you're on someone else's computer.)

AIM Express (Connect to AIM in a web browser. It's like Meebo, but only for AIM. No installing things.)

I use Trillian to connect to Yahoo, Google Talk, MSN, and an alternate AIM name so I don't have to have all those programs open.

well all you need is an msn or hotmail address to connect to MSN messenger. Some people do it without that, but I'm not sure how.
