Well the Keyblade chose sora for some reason. Also Ansem fell into the Darkness and decided to unlock all the doors to individual worlds so he could get their hearts.

Thats how it began and sort of evolves from when you play it.

The keyblade chose Sora because he had a pure heart...Riku was the true keyblade master but because his heart was not pure it chose Sora.
