Overall opinions of Left4Dead 1 and 2?

I personally loved the games. When L4d was first released i remember planning get-togethers with other friends trying to gather 4 people to play. I mean come on, a zombie shooter with co-op for 4 people? what's not to love? Needless to say, both of these games were highlights in the past couple years for my friends and i. When i look back some of the greatest times in my gamer career spawned from these games. It's crazy to think about.

The gameplay i love, it's straight forward team-based survival. If you don't stick together and work together, the game itself will punish you for being stupid, which i love xD. It's a great multiplayer game and one that i suggest to anyone who hasn't played it. (if you haven't played it by now of course, you might just be against the idea of playing it.)

Thoughts from anyone else?

Yes. It is a good game. With the release of the second one with even more special infected upped the difficulty as well. I have trouble beating some levels on normal still. The characters in the first game seem to be more memorable as well over the second one. Whether that was do to it being the first game to be released and has more time or something else.
I enjoyed the levels in both games as well. Though I personally thought 2's levels were more "inventive" with the ending challenge where it was more than just survive like the first one did. I liked that concept. Im hoping for some more good games to come from this. As well as hoping they dont run this series into the ground like CoD.

Well i think it's been more than a year without them releasing another Left 4 dead game, so i think you are safe. Also you have to realize that this is Valve. They won't run a series into the ground like activision or someone. They care more about quality than money, or perhaps they just care about money in a way that they want to make the best product for their consumer.

In any case, zombie games are always fun for me. Left 4 Dead was a prime example of zombie shooter done right. Not to mention the multiplayer! Playing as the infected was really fun for me, not sure why. Being able to pounce on people, waiting around the corner for someone to unexpectedly come. It was quite a thrill i have to say. On top of that it was always fun to play with bro's at a LAN party or something, hearing "OH MAN" when i scared the crap out of someone was always fun too.

this game when it first came out left for dead 1 was amazing! I remember I had to buy it.. It's not fun as a single player game at all. This is a definite multiplayer game! The best game to play with 3 other friends. That's what got me into it.

Then I got left for dead 2, which I found to be okay. I didn't notice a huge differences besides the characters, who I think are WAY! better than #1 and the maps were different.

I guess LFD3 will be out soon enough. But this is one of the best party and let stress out game ever. Haha wanna blow some steam? Take out some zombies!

I still find random people to play with online.. though I wish more people would play it. I guess there are more PC gamers than xbox.

Im surprised if not a lot of people play L4D 1 or 2 online, with how popular that game is. Of course some of them probably went over to CoD when it came out, but still, it's a great game to play online or with friends with memorable characters. Even if I hate Ellis because he can't do anything right. His stories are funny, but he's just an idiot when it comes to gameplay for me. I always play as Nick so I dont have to deal with his stupidity that I've heard people talk about. One friend said Nick had walked right up to a witch and just stood there next to her. I'm sure everyone knows what happened next.

The AI can be stupid sometimes. I have heard some crazy stories about how dumb it can be. That's why the game is best played with human companions. I have the same problem with Ellis, he always does the dumbest things out of the three computers i have with me. Healing me when i'm close to full health, deploying ammo AFTER a huge fight, and once i kid you not he was trying to beat a tank to death with a cricket bat. I raged.

LOL i gotta agree about the AI being lame!

I normally just ditched them if they died. Not my fault one of them ran off to fight alone LOL

Or that lamo Ellis takes the chainsaw and just wastes gas with it when no zombie is around...
