What makes you join a forum?

Before you join a forum, what do you usually look for in it? Does it have to look a certain way or have certain subforums? What attracts you to it?

My friend Yoh told me about this site and i like to talk about what I think about any issue. Or just spam alot in the threads. Sometimes its fun

I like forums that don't look to cheap-o for me and that have over two members online when I go. I also like to go around and look at the setup for it.

Basicly something that a forum has that interest you. Maybe not right away will you like everything about it even if its not the main elements. I never used to role-play on a previous forum, but i eventually got into it. Still their are somethings you'll like and dislike, you gotta take both either way.

Usually if their are interesting topics, matters of loyalty, the members itself and how they present themselves, and sometimes if there is an RPG system =/.
